Happy Tuesday!!

I hope you’ve had a great week. I’m excited to share a new video with you today!

But first – a reminder that today is my final library show of the summer! DELAWARE – come on out and see me at the Milford Library:

July 31
10:30 am:  Milford Library, DE

After that I’ll be wrapping up our family visits and finally heading out to our new residence in Minneapolis!! I’m looking forward to getting settled in there and getting to know the community. Hopefully I’ll get to Rap, Rock & Read in MN real soon!

Today’s video is the final one of the Kindiecomm sessions – and it was a blast to do! I am joined by brother and sister duo, Eddie RosenBerg III and Heather Hirshfield, of The Green Orbs and Leslie Dolby – known as “Rockin’ Red“.

In this video we perform Rockin’ Red’s version of The Itsy Bitsy Spider – we sing it the traditional way, but Red has written additional lyrics and music that are totally adorable.  Her singing is divine!

Eddie and Heather picked up my guitar and ukulele, pulled up the chord charts to Leslie’s version and with, like, two minutes of practice, jumped right in and accompanied Red. TOTAL ROCKSTARS! It was amazing and a really great example of the talent and collaborative spirit of the Kindie/Children’s Music community.

My daughter, Piper, has been a big fan of The Green orbs two song EP that they released a while back (she’s particularly fond of “Mr. Mustache.”) So her and I were both very excited to learn that they have a NEW ALBUM COMING OUT SEPTEMBER 7TH!! It’s called Thumb Wrestling Champions. Head on over to www.TheGreenOrbs.net to learn more about them. They love to celebrate silly situations through song in the hopes that kids of all ages will laugh and sing along.

Leslie Dolby, aka Rockin’ Red  was the keyboardist and member of the children’s entertainment group “Do Re Let’s Play” from 2008-2016.  In 2016, she began performing solo children’s shows as Rockin’ Red.  Leslie has a bachelors degree in music and has been performing her entire life.  Her primary instruments are piano and saxophone–which you can hear on her first studio album.  With two young children of her own, she finds inspiration for writing her songs from everyday life.  Her shows are packed with fun since she isn’t afraid to be silly and goofy!  To learn more about her vist www.rockinredmusic.com.

So push play and enjoy the video! And if you love it – please share it! We don’t care how: social media posts, forwarding emails – whatever. We just love when you share the love. 🙂

Enjoy the video and your week – and HAPPY AUGUST!

I’ll “see” you in your inbox next Tuesday…

XOXO
