Hello there!

If you’re in the USA, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and had a wonderful time with family and friends.  And if you’re elsewhere – well I hope you simply had a great weekend! 😉

Seems we’ve officially rolled into the “holiday season” now. So, for the next few weeks I’ll be delivering songs that fit holiday lesson plans for Chanukah, Christmas & New Years.  Today’s song is about a sleigh ride to Grandma’s house called “Over The River & Through The Woods”:

Although now known more as a Christmas song, it turns out that this song was first a poem written in 1844 by  Lydia Maria Child about Thanksgiving.

We stick to just this well known verse – but if you look up the song there are many, many more. I’ll post the lyrics that I’ll be using below so you can learn and sing along.

Enjoy & have a wonderful week!

xoxo
