We bookended our summer with vacations this year – we started off with a beach trip in mid-June and now as summer winds down, we’ve got our full week vacation happening RIGHT NOW. 🙂
Yes, I’m typing this to you from a very peaceful and quiet room right near the ocean. And I’m hoping this week brings all the rest and rejuvenation I need to kick off a really great, new school year. I have many plans, thoughts, and ideas – and am often stressing about how to accomplish it all. And even contemplated spending an hour or two each day of vacation working. But….
No accomplished task or completed plan or kudos compare to the richness of feeling I have while taking a slow walk into “town” with my 4-year-old daughter and just witnessing and relishing her 4-year-old-ness: her smile, her laugh, her wit and creativity. Her love.
So, although I feel guilty on the days that I send you a re-run (like today), I know that you fully and totally understand why. And that I hope you, too, are taking a little time to savor the age and stage your little one.is in right now.
And trust me, I know that raising young kids is not all sunshine and roses. But I also know that some times when I let go of plans and outcomes (whether regarding my child or my business) and just chill out and let the day be the day, we all end up feeling and dong a lot better.
So – here’s to savoring wherever you are today. 🙂 And in the meantime, here’s a video for you:
I made this video a little over a year ago – and it became and instant favorite! Perhaps it’s because of the puppets. Or perhaps it’s because of the blooper I left in at the end. I’m not sure! But feel free to let me know in the comments. 🙂
Enjoy! And I’ll see you next Tuesday with something new for you.
