Hello from two degrees below zero in Minnesota!!

Bbbbbbbrrrrr!

It’s definitely going to be a looooong winter here! Right now I am so appreciating that all the holidays at this time of year share the commonality of fire light, candles, stars and all things that twinkle and glow!

And it is fun that this year Hanukkah is completely synched up with Christmas and Kwanza so that they all occur within the same week this year (Hanukkah fluctuates every year because it’s based on the Hebrew calendar follows the moon cycles rather than the sun). This year Hanukkah begins sundown on December 22nd and ends the evening of December 30th, Kwanza begins December 26th and goes through January 1st, and Christmas, of course is on December 25th.

Isn’t that so lovely?!

So this week I have for you a new video of a Hanukkah Song that sounds strikingly similar to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star – Lol! It’s called Twinkle, Twinkle Hanukkah Lights. It’s not at all a religious song, it very simply mentions the most well-known activities about Hanukkah – lighting the candles, playing dreidel and eating Latkes – and puts it to a tune they all know & love. Here are the lyrics for you:

Twinkle Twinkle Hanukkah Lights
Shining brightly for eight nights.
Spin the dreidel round and round,
Eat some Latkes crisp and brown.
Twinkle Twinkle Hanukkah Lights
Shining brightly for eight nights

In the video below, I teach the motions first, and then we do it two times together:
