I still recall how I’d shudder with joy at the sound of this song when I was very young. I don’t know what it is about the tune, but all children respond to this children’s song. And the simple lyrics are sweetly clever – AND its got fun, easy to remember motions for a toddler. (This song will definitely appeal to the younger part of my preschool audience.)
In my time as a teacher, when coming up with new lesson plans, I’m often scouring the internet for songs to go with my theme – new ones, old ones, whatever! And at some point when I was doing a Fish unit I came upon “I’m A Little Fish” written to the tune of I’m a little teapot. Its totally adorable so I included it in this video.
The format of this latest Miss Nina children’s music video is a little different than the others. I start, standing up! (No!) Yes, it’s true. No chair in the first part while I teach the movements to the song. After our brief lesson, I break out the guitar as well as the good ol’ picture-in-a-picture technique. You’ll see…..
Enjoy! xoxo
