WELCOME, WELCOME EVERYONE!

That’s not only the song of our week – it’s my sentiment to all of you! Over the course of this year we’ve had many new friends join the Miss Nina email list and community from all around the Globe. In the last month alone we have new friends from  Canada, Korea, Australia, Japan, Spain, Sudan, India, South Africa and all across the USA from Delaware to California and everywhere in between! So I truly mean it when I say, Welcome, Welcome Everyone!

 

I’m so happy to have you all hear part of the community. My aim is to deliver to you music, songs and movement activities for early learning and literacy and ways to use music and movement across the early childhood curriculum, including for strategies like classroom management.

PRESCHOOL CIRCLE TIME SONG | WELCOME, WELCOME EVERYONE!

 

This is a simple song, to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star that I learned years and years ago at Gymboree Play & Music. I love it because it is such a gentle song with a familiar tune and a small bit of moving along to wake up our bodies and get us engaged.

 

BENEFITS OF USING THIS SONG WITH YOUR LITTLE ONES

• THE FAMILIAR FEELS SAFE: I particularly love this song for the Toddler classroom – for our littlest ones who may be doing a separation class for the first time, or getting used to their very first classroom situation. The tune of this song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star which nearly all children know. Hearing a familiar tune can help little ones feel calm, welcome and safe when they are surrounded by new, unfamiliar people and things.
• SIMPLE DIRECTION FOLLOWING:  This is a short song with simple directions – we sing Welcome, about having fun and they the song tells us to clap our hands, and reach down and touch our toes together. Children learn to listen to the song (and to the leader) and begin to learn how to follow directions.
• ESTABLISH WHAT HAPPENS AT CIRCLE TIME: If it’s their first time in school or a new classroom, this song gently helps children understand what happens at Circle Time (and school!). It helps establish that you are the teacher/leader, how to participate at Circle Time, and that school will be a warm, welcoming, fun place to learn and participate!
