I’m getting in the holiday spirit! And so I have for you TWO NEW VIDEOS OF PRESCHOOL HOLIDAY SONGS this week!
One is a preschool song with motions for Hanukkah, and one is a classic Christmas song I fell in love with when I was in preschool! (And I show you how to have fun with rhythm sticks with this song!)
This time of year can be tricky with preschool holiday songs because we’re all in our festive moods to celebrate the various holidays – but not everyone celebrates the same thing!
Years ago when I was teaching in a preschool in NYC, we did not focus on any particular holidays, but a general theme of Stars & Light since all of the Winter holidays have these things in common.
In my private music groups, I often stick to that idea but if I do decide to sing Christmas and/or Hanukkah songs, I make sure they are non-religious songs.
And with that in mind, today’s videos of preschool holiday songs are of non-religious holiday songs! We’ve got I’m A Little Latke – a Hanukkah song about eating Latkes – potato pancakes – that are often eaten during Hanukkah; and the Christmas song Up On The Housetop about Santa and his reindeer delivering presents!
Both are below along – along with a couple of other festive holiday videos Piper and I made in the last couple of years that are some of my favorites (my Jingle Bells Bop and Holiday Parade!):
Enjoy today’s videos & feel free to share this email, the video links and/or my blog with anyone else who might find it useful.
