THIS WEEK’S VIDEO IS:
7 Days of The Week + Addams Family Days of The Week Songs
Since we’re all in back-to-school and beginning-of-the-school-year mode, I thought I’d share with you TWO Days of the Week Song that can be used in your morning routines and Circle Times:
BENEFITS OF USING THIS SONG WITH YOUR LITTLE ONES
- LEARNING THE DAYS OF THE WEEK: The obvious biggest benefit of this song is children learning the days of the week! Children will learn that each day has a different name, that there are 7 days, and the order of those days.
- SEQUENCING: Learning the order of the days through this song gives you a jumping off point to start discussing the calendar. And discussing what day it is today, what day it was yesterday and what day tomorrow will be is the beginning of learning sequencing which is both a Math skill and a Literacy skill.
- A SONG FOR YOUR MORNING ROUTINE: Many teachers and home schooling parents like to have a morning routine or start-the-day routine for their day and/or class. Having a Days of The Week song is a great way to start talking about the Calendar and your daily schedule.
