Hey there ,
As my daughter reminded me today – it’s just 20 days until Halloween!
So, it seems time for a new Halloween song with motions. 😊 🎃
Before we get to that though, I just want to tell my friends in and around Minnesota to come and see me this Thursday, 10/13 at 6 pm at the Lake Elmo Library:
I hope to see you there!
And now, for this week’s new Halloween song video:
HALLOWEEN SURPRISE!
I
I’ve had this song on a card in my files for years and years and years and have meant to learn it for ages. It’s not so difficult, but it does have a specific melody and I just really needed a piano or keyboard to learn it. And finally – I have both, so I did!
If you’d like to learn the melody, here is a screenshot of the sheet music:
(I found this sheet music a this link: http://www.singinggamesforchildren.com/A%20Cluster%202.2%20Awaywego/22%20Songs%20for%20Halloween%20A-M.htm I originally found this song in the The Music Box, a resource box of music for kids. )
This is a fun Halloween song for toddlers and preschool children because it has relatively simple movements to act out carving out a pumpkin and identifying the parts of a face. The “surprise” of the song is now having a jack-o-lantern and therefore fun and Halloween-y for little ones without being scary.
