HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I’m officially in the holiday spirit – how about you?! Last week was a flurry of fun between my 30 minute Holiday Show video for the T.B. Scott Library (you can still see it HERE through Dec. 17th) and my fun guest appearances on Turtle Dance Music & Punkinfutz’s shows last week (both available for viewing on my Facebook Page). But we are not done – there is more holiday fun to be had! After getting all my technical difficulties from last week sorted, I finally have the video I’ve been working on for you!
THIS WEEK’S VIDEO IS:
It’s a Miss Nina original song to get those kiddos moving while celebrating the holidays Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanza (in a secular way). Join in the Holiday Parade to gallop like reindeer, hop like candles, spin like dreidels and march and laugh like Santa Claus!
About half of my songwriting comes from needing a song for my curriculum that I cannot find. I wanted a song that was a great gross motor activity for the holidays but that was not specific for just Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanza. So, I took my song, Animal Parade, rewrote it for the holiday, making Holiday Parade – and I got Piper to join me in this sparkly, upbeat video!
EARLY LEARNING CONCEPTS CHILDREN WILL GET FROM THE HOLIDAY PARADE VIDEO:
- Children will hear the names of three holidays in December and be exposed to some common, non-religious emblems of them: Reindeer, Candles, Dreidels and Santa Claus!
- Children can move along with Miss Nina and Piper in the gross motor movements of galloping, jumping, spinning and marching (while saying Ho Ho Ho!)
- Songs like this can act as a “BRAIN BREAK” to help children get their wiggles out so that they are better able to focus afterwards.
