HAPPY SPRING! HAPPY APRIL!!
If you can believe it, it’s still very cold in Minnesota. I’m writing to you from 28 degrees with snow still on the ground. 😩
But it’s okay. It’s okay. Things are finally going to start warming up this weekend and I cannot wait!
So, each year as Spring and April roll around, so do the holidays Easter and Passover.
Often, I’m teaching in a public or non-religious school so we don’t focus on those holidays. But they are still very present in children’s lives and hard for them NOT to talk about. Therefore, I like to have a Springtime music class focus on Bunnies & Frogs! And you know what that means – lots of hopping and jumping!
I’ve got six songs for you today – three bunny songs and three frog songs – that the preschool children in your life can jump, hop, sing and move along too. These are a whole bunch of fun!
***And one quick note: the song Frogs is a biblical/Passover song. But it becomes a secular song by just changing one word! In the Passover version we sing “One morning when Pharaoh woke in his bed…”. To make it just a silly every day song about frogs you simply change it to: “One morning when I woke in my bed…”. (OK, technically I changed two words, but you get the idea.) You can substitute any name or person for Pharaoh and have some silly fun!
So let’s get to the fun! Below you’ll find:
1. Here Is a Bunny
2. Robbie The Rabbit
3. Sleeping Bunnies
4. Ba-Rump (Went the Little Green Frog One Day)
5. 5 Green & Speckled Frogs
6. Frogs (aka One Morning )
