A’HOY MATEY! Ready for some Pirate Song fun?

Well first, please let me apologize for this blog post going up on WEDNESDAY instead of TUESDAY!!

Last week we were on vacation – and although I intended to have something all set up in advance to send out to you – it just didn’t happen. 🤦‍♀️ But I DID enjoy my vacation IMMENSELY, and I think that’s very important. I hope you too are finding time to rest, relax, rejuvenate and have some fun!

This week, it was a slew of technical issues yesterday that got my video and email out so late in the day – but the details of that are SO BORING to talk about. So I won’t. LOL!

But at long last I have a brand new, move-along, dance-along, COUNT-along video for you this week called:

THE PIRATE SONG:

I learned the Pirate Song ages ago and started doing it with my sing-along audiences back in Brooklyn, NY.  And a long time ago I did it for the video show. But it’s definitely been a while so I figured it was time for an upgrade!

I added a conga backing track, and you get to see in the video how to move along with me while sitting, or dance along while standing.

It’s just a super fun song (and one of my favorite GoNoodle songs to watch with Piper!)

BENEFITS OF USING THE PIRATE SONG WITH LITTLE ONES:

  • COUNTING: I think this is one of the most fun songs to count to five with. And you can go even higher if you want.  I find it to be a great alternative to The Ants Go Marching One-by-One. I love that song and I know kids do, too. But sometimes you gotta get out of the minor key and DANCE while you count! LOL!

  • ADAPTABLE MOVEMENT SONG: As you’ll see, you can do this song sitting or standing. So it can be about just fine motor and some upper body movement, or it can be a full body, gross motor dance activity. And if you do stand up to move, it definitely will get your heart pumping, especially if you sing along.

  • SPEECH & LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT:  As you’ll hear, this is a very repetitive song. Only the first line changes with each verse. But repetition, as I’ve said before, is the spice Life for little ones. It’s how they learn. So repeating these words over and over again is like a little work-out for their speech and language muscles.

ENJOY!

And of course, I’d love it if you would share this video anyone who might find it fun and/or useful: https://youtu.be/Vvs1-yBhsBg

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

I’ll see you back here on the blog next TUESDAY.  (I promise it WILL be Tuesday! )

XOXO
