Hello my Friends!
I’ve got a whole lot of fun things for you this week! We’ve got:
- An opportunity for YOUR CHILD to be in a Miss Nina Music Video
- An upcoming, online Craft-and-Sing-Along
- A new Very Hungry Caterpillar video this week
So first off – let’s make a music video together!
We did this in the Fall to make my Five Little Pumpkins Video and we’re doing it again for my song “Sunshine Blue Skies”. I would love you to send me video of your kids playing outside in Spring Time – under Sunshine and Blue Skies! I’ve got all the details below in a short video. Hold your phone sideways when you take those videos, and then send them to [email protected] by May 31st. By mid-May we’ll have one fun music video! And in celebration of Spring – you can go to this Soundcloud page to hear AND download the song for FREE! Here’s all the details:
And then, yes! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 27th – 10 am and 4 pm EST. We’re going to have a free online craft-and-sing-along! Doesn’t that sound like so much fun! We’ll do some art together and then use our craft during our sing-along fun! Anyone can join us. And keep an eye out of info on what materials you’ll need for our craft and the links to join us. Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter for updates!

If you do follow me on social media, you may have seen updates about our very special Make-A-Wish video shoot this past weekend at the YouTube Space in New York City. We’re in the editing process right now and next week we will debut that video. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
For this week – we’ve got a perfect Springtime song! At this time of your we often start talking about caterpillars and butterflies and all things Springs in our early childhood classrooms, library story times and at home. When I had my own preschool classroom we would do a whole unit on Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. And so I had come up with this little song about that book – to the tune of Old MacDonald Had a Farm. You get the life cycle of a caterpillar/butterfly and a favorite kids song all wrapped in one!
So so much fun stuff – right?! And if you’re in New Jersey be sure and join us at the Turtle Back Zoo this Saturday, April 22nd for the Children’s Music Festival as part of the Party For The Planet! I’ll be performing at 12:10 and can’t wait to see you there!
Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you very soon…
xoxo
Miss Nina
Where can I get the words to this song and some of the others you sing?
Hi Charlene!
Oh – totally forgot to post the lyrics! I’ll put them below. And what other songs were you interested in the lyrics for? Let me know and I’ll see if I can post them and/or email them to you….
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Went Out One day
(Tune: Old MacDonald Had A Farm)
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
He ate a lot of food on his way
E I E I O
With a munch crunch here and a munch crunch there
Here a munch
There a crunch
Everywhere a munch crunch
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
He made a cocoon and then slept away
E I E I O
With a honk Choo here and a honk Choo there
Here a honk
there a Choo
everywhere a honk Choo
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
The very hungry caterpillar woke up one day
E I E I O
He turned into a butterfly and fluttered away
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
With a flutter flutter here
and a flutter flutter there
here a flutter
there a flutter
Everywhere a flutter flutter
The very hungry caterpillar went out one day
E I E I O
